Type Locality: Australia, Northern Territory, George Gill Range (as restricted by lectotype designation; see Mahoney and Richardson, 1988:176).
Vernacular Names: Sandy Inland Pseudomys.
Synonyms: Pseudomys brazenori Troughton 1937 .
Distribution: Australia; arid parts of Western Australia, South Australia, Northern Territory, W Queensland, W New South Wales, and NW Victoria ( Breed, 1995 c:604; Robinson et al., 2000; Watts and Aslin, 1981:190; see also the range retraction by Ellis, 1995 b).
Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Electrophoretic data ( Baverstock et al., 1981) and spermatozoal morphology (Breed, 1983) clustered P. hermannsburgensis with most other species in Pseudomys , but phallic morphology interpreted by Lidicker and Brylski (1987) indicated closer affinity to species they placed in Leggadina . Digestive tract traits in relation to diet documented by Murray et al. (1994). Reviewed by Breed (1995 c).
