Type Locality: Dem. Rep. Congo, Medje.
Vernacular Names: Polia's Shrew.
Distribution: Known only from the type locality.
Conservation: IUCN – Critically Endangered.
Discussion: Included in dolichura by Heim de Balsac and Meester (1977) but represents a distinct species known only from the holotype.
