Etymology. The specific name is a noun in apposition that refers to the type locality of the holotype.

Diagnosis. Males of Scytodes tabuleiro   n.sp. resemble those of S. marlieria   n.sp. by the dorso-ventrally narrow distal region of the palp ( Figs. 49–51 View FIGURES 44 – 51. 44 – 47 , 131– 133 View FIGURES 130 – 140. 130 – 135 ). They are distinguished by the sclerotized process, almost as long as the distal region in S. tabuleiro   n.sp. ( Figs. 131–133 View FIGURES 130 – 140. 130 – 135 ). The females are distinguished from those of the other Neotropical Scytodes   by the peculiar shape of the hyaline pockets in the epigynum, with the anterior region bent outwards over the large sclerotized lateral area ( Fig. 135 View FIGURES 130 – 140. 130 – 135 ).
