Amblyscirtes florus (Godman, 1900) , revised combination
Stomyles florus Godman, 1900 View in CoL (type locality Mexico: Nayarit), currently in Repens Evans, 1955 View in CoL (type species Repens repens Evans, 1955 View in CoL ), is not monophyletic with its type species and instead is sister to Amblyscirtes Scudder, 1872 View in CoL (type species Hesperia vialis W. H. Edwards, 1862 View in CoL ) ( Fig. 13 View Figure 13 ), of which Stomyles Scudder, 1872 View in CoL (type species Pyrgus textor Hübner, [1831] View in CoL , currently a junior subjective synonym of Hesperia aesculapius Fabricius, 1793 View in CoL ) is a subgenus. Attributed to Amblyscirtes View in CoL by Hoffmann (1941) and reaffirmed in this genus by Evans (1955) due to phenotypic similarities ( Evans 1955), it was then placed in Repens View in CoL by Warren et al. (1998). Here, we return it to its nearly original genus as Amblyscirtes florus (Godman, 1900) , revised combination.
