Distribution: — Mexico (Oax, Ver), Cuba, Jamaica.
Representative specimens from Veracruz: —Soteapan: M. Nee et al. 25071 (F, XAL).
Ecology: — Epiphytic ; in Los Tuxtlas area in montane rain forest between 830-980 m.
Conservation status: — Critically Endangered ( CR) B2 ab(ii,iii) in Veracruz. Known from only a single specimen (AOO: 1.4 km 2) made 30 years ago at the northern slope of San Martín Pajapan volcano, which since suffered severe habitat destruction. Although from 1998 it forms part of the nuclear zones of the Los Tuxtlas Biosphere Reserve , the area is still under anthropogenic pressure. Specimens examined: 1; TK collections: 0 .
