Distribution: — Mexico (Chis, Oax, Ver), Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Jamaica, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, S Brazil, Bolivia.

Representative specimens from Veracruz: —Calcahualco: M. Nee 23139 (F, XAL).

Ecology: — Epiphytic ; in central Veracruz in pine-oak forests at 2700 m .

Conservation status: —Critically Endangered (CR) B2ab(ii,iii) in Veracruz. Known from only a single specimen (AOO: 9.3 km 2) made 30 years ago in a pine-oak forest of central Veracruz, which since then has been under high anthropogenic pressure and is not included inside Veracruz’ protected areas network. Specimens examined: 1; TK collections: 0.
