Elytra: 0.47 mm long, 0.45 mm wide, more finely punctured than pronotum and pubescence shorter.

Etymology. This epithet is taken from the Latin adjective subinsulsus, meaning somewhat insipid, and refers to the overall impression given by the insect’s appearance.
Remarks. The small size of the pronotum, short antennae, and the characters of the genitalia should serve to distinquish this species.
Type data. Holotype: ♀, Ranomafana N.P., RNF/13.2011, sifting litter, S. 21˚.14’ 57.9’’ E. 47˚ 24’ 22.90’’, 1138 m, 16.iv.2011, L.S.Rahanitriniaina & R. Raveloson (BMNH). Paratypes: 11 exs, Ranomafana N.P., sifting litter, Winkler app. extr., S. 21˚14’51.3’’ E.47˚24’09.1’’, 1118 m, 15.iv.2011, P. Banar & Raveloson (BMNH).
