Diagnosis: It can be identified by its characteristics X - mark on the pronotum, which is broadly rounded posteriorly; hind wing yellow basally with complete dark fascia.
Habitats: The species lives in dry areas, especially in sandy soils in Africa. It appears to be feeding on variety of wild grasses. Material examined: Al Shati Region : Ashkidah, 1♂, 1♀, on grass, 21.xii.1995. Localities: Tripolitania: Leptis Magna; Fezzan: Ashkidah. Distribution: Algeria, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia, Senegal, Mouretania, Nigeria, Sudan, Cameroons, Somaliland, Socotra, Tanganyika, Kenya, Ethiopia, Congo, Cape Verde Is., Canary Is., S.W. Asia. Remarks: This species was recorded from Tripolitania by La Greca (1958) .
