Distribution: Global: Circumglobal, in tropical and subtropical waters; entering estuaries and littoral lagoons and ascending river courses; genetic analyses indicate that this comprises at least 14, mainly allopatric, species ( Robertson & Van Tassell 2019, Neves et al. 2020); Costa Rica: To (Atlantic), 0– 3 m.a.s.l., Per, Dia.
