The /Murrayi subclade includes Entoloma acutoconicum (Hongo) E. Horak (1976:214) ( Papua New Guinea), E. carneum Z.S. Bi (1986:162) ( Vietnam), E. laccarioides T.H. Li, Horak & Xiao L. He (2015:242) ( China), E. luteum Peck (1902:146) ( China), E. pallidoflavum (Henn. & E. Nyman) E. Horak (1976:178) ( Vietnam), E. plicatum (Largent) Blanco-Dios (2015) ( Australia), four specimens of the species complex E. murrayi (Berk. & M.A. Curtis) Sacc. & P. Syd. (1899:127) ( China, Russia and the United States) and four specimens of the species complex E. quadratum (Berk. & M.A. Curtis) E. Horak (1976:190) ( China and the United States), in addition to the new species E. voltavelhense and E. neotropicale sampled in Brazil.
These species are characterized by a basidiome with colors ranging from beige, yellow, orange or salmon, or vinaceous in Entoloma voltavelhense , an adpressed-fibrillose, often hygrophanous, pileal surface, and by the cuboidal basidiospores lacking elongated angles.
