Chrysodema (Chrysodema) tonkinea Kerremans, 1909: 540 View in CoL .

Material examined. 1 ♀ ( Fig. 3F View FIGURE 3 , 5R–T View FIGURE 5 ) ( CHTS): CHINA, Damingshan Nature Reserve, Nanning City , Guangxi; 11.VIII.2011; Hai-Tian Song leg. 1 ♀ ( CHTS); Guangxi; 2009 2 ♀♀ ( Fig. 3G–I View FIGURE 3 , 5L–Q View FIGURE 5 ) ( CHTS) , 2 ♀♀ ( CCHZ); Damingshan Nature Reserve, Nanning City , Guangxi; 2006; Ying-Bing Li leg.; body ♀♀ length: 2.39–2.64 cm, width: 0.77–0.89 cm, length/width ratio: 2.97–3.10.

Distribution. China (Guangxi, new country record); Cambodia; Laos; Vietnam.

Host plant. Unknown.

Remarks. This is a variable species, which is mainly reflected in the number of transverse impressions on each elytron. Three of our four specimens only with an obvious transverse principal impression on the lateral impression towards elytral suture at apical third of each elytron. Specimens in Figs 3F View FIGURE 3 and 8D View FIGURE 8 have an extra transverse impression at basal third of each elytron, which angles slightly to the elytral suture. It is quite similar to Figs 138 and 139 in Lander (2003), only transverse impressions on apical third are larger. Apex of ovipositor varies, slightly protruding ( Fig. 5L View FIGURE 5 ), flat ( Fig. 5O View FIGURE 5 ) or slightly concave ( Fig. 5R View FIGURE 5 ). Female tergite IX also changed ( Fig. 5M, P, S View FIGURE 5 ) but female tergite VIII nearly constant ( Fig. 5N, Q, T View FIGURE 5 ).
