Remarks. A species within the C. calcaratus group (sensu Schein 1954a). The adult specimens of Huambo localities were found during day in footpaths in secondary open forests walking on reddish soil (Bembua–Camenhe) or whitish soil (Longonjo–Catabola and Cuima–Cusse). Some specimens of Bembua–Camenhe had phoretic aca- rina connected with some parts of the body (e.g. legs, pygidium). Biological and ecological data are not available for the species, but see general comments in Schein (1954a) and the remarks under the genus Coenochilus . It is a new species record for the Huíla and Moxico Provinces.
