Type species. Weania goldringi Campbell & Engel, 1963 .
Diagnosis. See Hahn et al. (1989b: 149).
Remarks. This genus is very similar to Belgibole Hahn 1963 and as such, Hahn et al. (1989b) have reassigned Weania species to the latter genus. Weania differs in having occipital lobes. Engel & Morris (1989) and Hahn et al. (1989b) have provided emended diagnoses of the genus –we follow the latter.

Age and distribution. Tournaisian to Westphalian in Australia, Central Asia, China and Europe (Hahn et al. 1989b, Engel & Morris 1989).
