Carbonocoryphe View in CoL ? applanata Engel & Morris 1980

1980 Carbonocoryphe (Aprathia) applanata ; Engel & Morris, p. 282–283, pl. 1, fig. 15. 1989 Aprathia applanata ; Engel & Morris, p. 332, fig. 13.

Holotype. AMF80720 (external mould of pygidium).

Locality. NU L602.

Diagnosis. See Engel & Morris (1980: 282).

Remarks. Carbonocoryphe ? applanata was originally placed within Aprathia by Engel & Morris (1980, 1989). However, the only specimen available is more similar to specimens placed within Carbonocoryphe , as it resembles the pygidium of Carbonocoryphe ? rockhamptonensis in its sharply tapering pygidial axis and axial ring and pleural rib numbers (Engel & Morris 1989). Lack of cephalic features means that this placement remains provisional until new material is described.
