Type locality.

Petersburg, Dinwiddie County, Virginia, USA; stratum: Yorktown Formation; age: Late Miocene to Middle Pliocene.

Type material.

Syntypes, ANSP IP1554, 1 shell ( Gardner 1948: 279, pl. 38, fig. 27; as “type” in Richards 1968: 122), ANSP IP79382, 1 shell ( Gardner 1948: 279, pl. 38, fig. 28).
