Diagnosis
Females: genital fork stem long and thin; medial edges of hypogynial valves moreor-less parallel. Pupae: cocoon more shoe-shaped, generally not flared laterally on basal edges Larvae: anterior apotome normally pale to lightly pigmented; hypostomal hairs more than 10; posterior abdomen more-or-less steatopygous; paired dorsolateral tubercles absent; posterior circlet directed more posteriorly, more than 5,000 hooks.
Constituents: S. anatolicum , S. jolyi , S. laciniatum , S. paradisium , S. steatopygium , S. subparadisium , S. supercilium , S. undulatum , S. adsonense , S. spiroi .
