Haetosmia brachyura ( Morawitz 1875)

Osmia brachyura Morawitz 1875: 97 . Type material: Holotype ♂, “in deserto Kisilkum” (Uzbekistan). Osmia latipes Morawitz 1875: 97 . Type material: Holotype ♀, “in deserto Kisilkum” (Uzbekistan). Type species of Haetosmia ( Popov 1952) . Synonymy in Popov (1960).

Literature records: TURKMENISTAN: Uch-Adzhi ( Popov 1960); Shakh-Senema ruins ( Popov 1960); Imambaba ( Popov 1960); Repetek ( Popov 1960).

New records. TURKMENISTAN: Uch-Adzhi, 1– 3.5.1929, 1♀ (leg. A. Shestakov) . UZBEKISTAN: Korhezm , 25 km S of Khiya, 26.5.2008, 1♂ (leg. C. Praz, I. Abdullaev) .

Distribution. Karakum and Kyzylkum Desert of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan ( Fig. 9 ).

Pollen hosts. Most probably narrowly oligolectic on Heliotropium ( Gotlieb et al. 2014) . Additional flower record: Salsola richteri (Amaranthaceae) ( Popov 1960).

Nesting biology. Unknown.
