Lagria nigricollis Hope, 1843: 63 (type locality: China, Chusan (now Zhejiang: Zhoushan); brief description); Seidlitz 1898: 340 (key; recorded from Pecking? Russia: Wladiwostok, Japan); Borchmann 1941b: 22 (checklist; recorded from Fujian); Masumoto 1987: 42 (illustrations of holotype and aedeagus (black and white)); Masumoto 1994: 3 (recorded from North Korea); Merkl 2008: (catalogue; recorded from Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Liaoning, Sichuan, Xinjiang, South Korea); Akita & Masumoto 2016: 40 (color plates).

Lagria babai Nakane, 1994: 243 (type locality: Japan). Synonymized with L. nigricollis by Merkl 2020: 120.

Lagria picea Brancsik, 1914: 58 (type locality: Ussuri). Synonymized with L. nigricollis by Merkl 2004: 293.

Lagria subtilipunctala Seidlitz, 1898 (type locality: Amur Faust): 340; Merkl 2004: 293 (lectotype and paralectotype designated). Synonymized with L. nigricollis by Merkl 2004: 293.

Diagnosis. Similar color pattern to L. (L.) indicola , body black except brown (or yellow) elytra; interocular distance wide, 1.50× as wide as eye diameter (male); antennomeres stout (compared with L. (L.) indicola ), male terminal antennomere elongate and subequal to combined length of 5 preceding antennomeres; pronotum wider than head.
