sp. nov.

Meleonoma chongqingensis Wang , sp. nov.

( Figs 10 View FIGURES 9‒14 , 28 View FIGURES 27‒32 )

Type material. CHINA, Chongqing: Holotype • ♂, Mt. Jinfo (29.00°N, 107.17°E), 1700 m, 12.VII.2010, leg. X.C. Du & S.W. Shi, slide No. YAH15021. GoogleMaps

Paratypes (2♂): • 1♂, same data as holotype GoogleMaps ; • 1♂, Daheba , Mt. Jinfo, 800–850 m, 15.VII.2010, leg. X.C. Du & L.F. Song.

Diagnosis. The new species is similar to M. kangxianensis ( Wang, 2003) in male genitalia. It can be distinguished by the costa smooth distally, the sacculus slightly widened before apex and the saccus slightly longer than the uncus; in M. kangxianensis , the costa is convex before apex, the sacculus is not widened before apex and the saccus is slightly shorter than the uncus ( Wang 2003: 198, fig. 3). It is also similar to M. arcivalvata sp. nov. in the male genitalia, and the differences between them are stated in the diagnosis of the preceding species.

Description. Adult ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 9‒14 ). Forewing length 5.2‒5.5 mm.

Head with vertex and occiput brown, frons yellow. Labial palpus yellow; second segment mixed with brown scales in distal 1/3 on outer surface, with a brown apical ring; third segment shorter than second segment, with brown scales. Antenna brown on dorsal surface, yellow on ventral surface; flagellum annulated with brown on ventral surface.

Thorax and tegula blackish brown. Forewing with costal margin arched, apex narrowly rounded; blackish brown; median fascia yellow, extending from before middle of costal margin to before tornus; costal spot small, dot-like, yellow, at distal 1/4; fringe blackish brown. Hindwing blackish brown; fringe concolorous with wing. Legs yellow; on ventral surface, foreleg with scattered blackish-brown scales, tarsus blackish brown except yellow at apex of basal tarsomere and yellow on entire second tarsomere, midleg blackish brown except tibia yellow apically, tarsus yellow at apices of basal four tarsomeres and on entire apical one tarsomere, hindleg blackish brown except yellow at apices of basal three tarsomeres.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 28 View FIGURES 27‒32 ). Uncus sub-triangular, with dense short setae. Tegumen widened medially, median height longer than uncus, straight on posterior margin, deeply concave in U shape on anterior margin; lateral arm uniformly wide before pointed apex. Valva narrow basally, uniform from basal 1/3 to distal 1/3, thereafter slightly narrowed to rounded apex, with dense long setae around apex and in distal 2/3 on ventral margin; costa narrowly banded, reaching distal 1/4 of valva, slightly concave basally, smooth arched distally; transtilla widely and almost uniformly banded, curved upward, rounded apically. Sacculus wide at base, narrowed to beyond middle, dorsoapically produced to a clavate process widened before apex, with sparse setae distally. Saccus triangular, rounded at apex, slightly longer than uncus. Juxta U-shaped. Aedeagus narrow and handle-shaped in basal 1/4, with several irregular sclerites in distal 1/3; cornuti being a cluster of spines ( Fig. 28a View FIGURES 27‒32 ).

Female unknown.

Distribution. China (Chongqing).

Etymology. The specific epithet is from the type locality, Chongqing.
