FAMILY VELIIDAE View in CoL BRULLÉ
AXEL O. BACHMANN AND SILVIA A. MAZZUCCONI
The Veliidae View in CoL are the richest family of semiaquatic bugs in Argentina, with 30 recorded species in seven genera. This family probably has more representatives in the country than those listed below. Following Andersen (1982), six subfamilies are currently recognized, of which only the Microveliinae View in CoL , Rhagoveliinae View in CoL and Veliinae View in CoL are represented in the Argentinean fauna. Andersen (1982) subdivided the Microveliinae View in CoL in three tribes, out of which only Microveliini is represented in the country.
