FAMILY ACANTHOSOMATIDAE SIGNORET View in CoL
JOCELIA GRAZIA, CRISTIANO F. SCHWERTNER AND MARIA DEL CARMEN COSCARÓN
Listed below are the 19 species in 12 genera, belonging to Ditomotarsini (Ditomotarsinae) and Lanopini (Blaudusinae) , for which the Argentinean records have been found. Collecting should add several more to this list. This group of heteropterans has often been considered a subfamily or a tribe of an inclusive Pentatomidae ( Schuh and Slater 1995) . It was first recognized as a higher taxon by Signoret (1863). This family is predominantly from Southern Hemisphere; Kumar (1974) revised the world fauna, offering keys to the known genera. Infrafamilial classification includes three subfamilies: Acanthosomatinae , Blaudusinae with two tribes Blaudusini and Lanopini , and Ditomotarsinae , also with two tribes, Ditomotarsini and Laccophorellini ( Kumar 1974, Froeschner 1999b).
