FAMILY NAUCORIDAE View in CoL LEACH
AXEL O. BACHMANN AND SILVIA A. MAZZUCCONI
Naucoridae is one of the richest families of aquatic bugs in Argentina, with 29 described species and subspecies in six genera. Following Štys and Jansson (1988), five subfamilies are currently recognized: Cheirochelinae , Cryphocricinae (with three tribes, Ambrysini , Cataractocorini and Cryphocricini ), Laccocorinae , Limnocorinae and Naucorinae . The Ambrysini are treated as a separate subfamily by some authors (Nieser et al. 1999); this tribus is here treated as a subfamily of Naucoridae . The Ambrysinae , Cryphocricinae , Laccocorinae , Limnocorinae and Naucorinae are represented in the Argentinean fauna.
