Range: — Venezuela; Bolivia (CO, LP); probably throughout the tropical Andes. Ecology: —Rare; epiphytic in humid forests; 2500–3100 m. Notes: —Differs from Hymenophyllum cordobense in the entire to slightly dentate/undulate involucral margins; segments narrower, more ascending; if the two prove to be conspecific, H. assurgens has priority at species rank. From H. peltatum vel aff . differing by the narrower, ascending segments; rachises and veins with reddish hairs.
