Holotype: PEM R7731 View Materials (formerly AMG 5353 View Materials ); summit of Coetzees Berg near Pearston, Eastern Cape Province, South Africa; Mr. Ben Marais, date unknown. Remarks: Loveridge (1947) considered this a junior synonym of Pachydactylus maculatus .
