Type material. Holotype ♂, MYANMAR, Pyinmana, 18.iii.[?], leg. T.B.F., genitalia slide no. J. F.G.C. 8380 ( NHMUK).

Diagnosis. The forewing pattern of T. xanthodora is quite different from that of its congeners, with the basal 1/3 marked with black and yellow longitudinal streaks ( Fig. 98 View FIGURES 98–102 ). Other species of Tenupalpa usually have the base uniformly colored without distinct pattern elements. The male genitalia are somewhat similar to those of T. flavitermina and T. acutata sp. nov. in having a sinuous distal part of the aedeagus and oval anellus lobes bearing a long apical bristle. However, the genitalia of T. xanthodora can be distinguished from those of the latter two species by the valva expanded in the apical 1/3 and the larger anellus lobes.

Distribution. Myanmar.

Remarks. The species was originally described in Thiotricha based on a single specimen collected from Myanmar (labeled as Burma). The male genitalia and the abdomen of the holotype housed in NHMUK are characteristic of Tenupalpa : small uncus, tegumen bearing a bundle of tubercles ( Fig. 100 View FIGURES 98–102 ), rounded sternum VIII, and short external coremata ( Fig. 102 View FIGURES 98–102 ). Based on these morphological traits, we propose the new combination, T. xanthodora ( Meyrick, 1923) comb. nov.

In our previous work ( Lee et al. 2021), we incorrectly transferred Thiotricha glenias Meyrick, 1908 , to Tenupalpa . Thiotricha glenias is superficially similar to Tenupalpa species in wing pattern and coloration; however, its male possesses an expansible hair pencil dorsally on the labial palpus, setae are present on the dorsal surface of the tegumen, and tegumen tubercles are absent. These features are characteristic of many species of Thiotricha and Pulchrala. The generic position of the species requires further study, but the combination of morphological characters is certainly not typical of Tenupalpa . Therefore, we propose Thiotricha glenias stat. rev., resurrected from combination with Tenupalpa .
