Frons at base somewhat rugose with shallow punctures; rather strongly depressed, producing somewhat broad ridge-like impressions on either side along mesal eye margins; distinctly tumid convex at apex, finely transversely rugose with impressed oval patches posteriorly on either side of disk, smooth. Colouration variable; disk in some specimens dark-reddish to black with occiput, postgenae, juga, broad arc-like lateral maginal bands on frons, all pale reddish to yellow-brown; in others, in addition base of frons extensively pale; and in yet others, vertex is similarly pale. Entire head disk generally shining, pubescent with short semi-erect yellow-brown hairs. Ocelli protuberant, dark-reddish with distinct reddish surrounding annuli; about 2.0–2.25 width of each apart. Gena subexcavated, about 0.33x as high as eye. Eyes dark-reddish, obscurely hairy, emarginate behind ocelli. Antennal segment I dark reddish-brown to black, somewhat paler at tip, and/or broadly pale at base; about as thick as II at apex. Hemelytra with broad sub-basal to sub-median somewhat triangular blotch on embolium and corium together with broad median band comprising three-fifths of clavus, pale whitish hyaline; this confluent with apical whitish band on scutellum to form a rather broad transverse whitish band across the dorsum. Embolium, corium, clavus otherwise dark reddish-brown, generally finely transversely rugose punctuate. Cuneus impunctate, largely whitish hyaline; mesal margin, narrow apical band dark reddish-brown. Membrane glabrous, rippled; hyaline with reddish tinge, uniareolate.

Dorsum generally strongly shining; pubescent with reclining and semi-reclining golden hairs arising from fine aciculate punctures. Venter generally dark-red to black. Propleura finely rugose punctuate. Forecoxae dark reddishbrown at basal third, otherwise pale whitish; mid and hind coxae more extensively dark reddish-brown, pale whitish towards apex. Trochanters, narrow basal and apical bands on femora pale whitish translucent; femora otherwise dark reddish-brown. Tibiae, tarsi pale whitish translucent, tarsomere II tinged with reddish. Rostrum extending to sixth to eighth abdominal sternite; generally dark reddish-brown with lateroventral band on segment I, broad apical band on II, broad basal band on III and tip of IV, pale in some specimens.

Comments. This new species belongs in the subgenus Jehania Distant and represents the fourth known species of the subgenus in the Middle-East; the other three previously known species being Isometopus yemenensis Akingbohungbe , I. quadrivittatus Akingbohungbe , and I. carinifrons Akingbohungbe. The new species can be readily separated from these other species as indicated in the accompanying key to the species. It shows considerable variation as evident even in the few specimens examined, which may not have been sufficiently captured in the description provided above. For example, in the pronotum in one specimen the calli largely are yellow-brown with a reddish tinge and the explanate lateral margin is whitish hyaline; and in another specimen, the entire pronotal disk is dark-red to black with the marginal area on the posterior angle slightly paler. In one specimen also, all the coxae are completely darkened.
