Distribution. Taiwan.

Remarks. The examination of type specimens shows that Micropodabrus simplicicornis Wittmer, 1993 is a junior synonym of Fissocantharis formosana ( Pic, 1910) , since there is no difference between them in the characters of appearance and aedeagus. Besides, a large series of additional specimens available in this study appear that this species has some variation in the body coloration, e.g. head orange, sometimes darkened, antennae black, sometimes several basal antennomeres orange, legs entirely orange, sometimes tibiae and tarsi black or entirely black, but the aedeagus is conservative and dependable.
