Distribution: Japan (Yaeyama Islands); Taiwan ( Fu et al. 2021).

Notes. Fu et al. (2021) pointed out the imperfect revision of Naarda by Tóth & Ronkay as follows: “This species [ N. punctirena ] was described by Sugi (1982) from Ishigakijima and Iriomotejima Islands, the Yaeyama group of the Ryukyus. Tóth & Ronkay (2014a) synonymized Gynaephila Staudinger, 1892 with Naarda Walker, 1866 . Although they illustrated a pair of moths and the genitalia of this species, they did not record their localities, because they did not revise this species in their “revision of Palaearctic and Oriental species of the genus Naarda Walker ”, but changed the generic combination only ( Tóth & Ronkay, 2014a, 2014 b, 2015a, 2015 b, 2015c). According to Dr. Balázs Tóth (personal communication in 2021), all the illustrated specimens of Naarda punctirena in Tóth & Ronkay (2014a) were collected in Taiwan.”
