HOLOTYPE. China. Xishuangbanna : male [ China / Yunnan /Xishuanbanna/ 900 m / 29 June 1958 / Y. Zhang] ( IZAS).

Description. Male: length: 4.2 mm (n = 1). width: 2.1 mm (n = 1). Head: mediumsized; punctures small, with fine, small, narrow, elongate, testaceous scales; diffuse ventromedial macula of small, white scales. Rostrum: length: 2.0 mm (n = 1); 0.48 as long as body; sub­cylindrical, base to antennal insertion dilated, then narrowing to apex; 5 dorsal carinae from frons to distad of antennal insertion, with deep, squarish, punctures between carinae; almost straight to antennal insertion, then slightly arced to apex; scrobe ventral; scape inserted at midpoint. Antennae: length: scape 0.8 mm; funiculus: segment one 0.25 mm, two 0.2 mm, three 0.1 mm, four 0.1 mm, five 0.1 mm, six 0.1 mm, seven 0.1 mm, club 0.3 mm, funicle 0.95 mm (n = 1); scape 0.84 as long as funicle; vestiture glabrous; club compact, oval, as long as funicular segments 5–7. Thorax: length: 1.2 mm (n = 1); width: 1.7 mm (n = 1); 0.7 as long as broad; disc with middorsal longitudinal carina, margins evenly rounded from broad base to constriction, punctures small, clothed with narrow, elongate, testaceous and white scales mixed; flat in lateral view; anteroventral macula of clavate, white scales; base almost straight; mesosternal intercoxal process prominent with white scales; scutellum very small, broader than long, triangular, bifid, glabrous; mesepimeron, mesepisternum, metepisternum, and metasternum clothed with short, clavate, dirty white scales. Elytra: length: 2.6 mm (n = 1); striae deep, narrow, with small deep punctures; humeri rounded; disc flat in lateral view; intervals narrow, flat, with narrow, elongate, cinerous to testaceous scales; crosshatched setae short. Legs: length of hind femur 1.8 mm (n = 1), all femora with teeth medium­sized, acute apex; pro­ and metafemoral clava large about same size, mesofemoral clava smaller; all femora clothed with narrow, elongate, dirty white scales; tibiae sinuate, pro­, meso­ and metauncus large. Abdomen: sternite 1 longer than 2 behind coxal cavity; sternite 3 and 4 same length, combined longer than 5; sternite 5 truncate with lateral tuft of short seta­like scales; vestiture of all sternites of clavate, dirty white scales. Pygidium : small with short testaceous seta­like scales. Genitalia: median lobe 0.75 mm (n = 1) in length; 0.2 mm (n = 1) in width, margins even to near apex, rather thick­walled, abruptly tapering to narrow, elongate apex in dorsal view; thickened, almost even lacking any significant arc except for apex in lateral view; apodeme 1.1 mm (n = 1) in length (Figs. 91–93).

Remarks. Can be separated from remainder of group by the male genitalia.

Etymology. Named in honor of the senior author’s daughter­in­law Carla Yandura Pelsue.
