HOLOTYPE. China. Gang­ku : male [ China /Fukien (Fujian)/Gang­ku/ 27 July 1936 / J. L. and M. Gressitt] ( BPBM).

Description. Male: length: 3.8 mm (n = 1). width: 2.5 mm (n = 1). Head: small; punctures small with short, narrow, elongate, ochraceous scales; frons, 0.17 as broad as head across eyes, vestiture of short, narrow, elongate, ochraceous scales; deep slit­like interocular fovea. Rostrum: length: 2.1 mm (n = 1); 0.55 as long as body; 3 dorsal carinae, median fuscorufous, lateral carinae piceous with deep oval punctures between carinae; longitudinal slit­like fovea at antennal insertion; punctures small, round to apex; straight to antennal insertion then gradually arced to apex; scrobe ventral; scape inserted at midpoint. Antennae: length: scape 0.9 mm, funiculus: segment one 0.3 mm, two 0.3 mm, three 0.15 mm, four 0.1 mm, five 0.2 mm, six 0.1 mm, seven 0.15 mm, club 0.3 mm, funicle 1.3 mm (n = 1); scape 0.69 as long as funicle; funicular segments glabrous; club small, acuminate, compact, longer than funicular segments 5–7. Thorax: length: 1.3 mm (n = 1). width: 1.8 mm (n = 1); 0.72 as long as broad; disc margins evenly rounded to constriction, punctures small, clothed with narrow, elongate, ochraceous scales dorsally, clavate scales on pleuron; base subsinuate; flat in lateral view; mesosternal intercoxal process feebly prominent, clothed with dirty white scales; scutellum small, longer than broad, almost triangular with fine ochraceous scales; mesepimeron, mesepisternum, and metepisternum clothed with clavate, ochraceous scales. Elytra: length: 3.0 mm (n = 1); striae deep with deep punctures set with short, narrow, elongate, ochraceous scales; scutellar declivity wanting; convex in lateral view; humeri rounded; intervals broad, flat, clothed with short, broad, clavate, ochraceous scales some fuscous scales mixed; crosshatched setae short, ochraceous. Legs: length of hind femur 1.7 mm (n = 1), slightly exceeds apex of abdomen; teeth on all femora small, acute; femoral base slender, clava medium­sized, derm of base fuscopiceous, clava fuscorufous, apex piceous; vestiture of all femora of elongate, clavate, ochraceous scales; tibiae straight, pro­, meso­ and metauncus small. Abdomen: sternite 2 longer than 1 behind coxal cavity, with deep median declivity, ascending to 3; sternites 3 and 4 equal in length, combined longer than 5; sternite 5 with emarginate apex and median apical declivity with lateral tufts of seta­like scales; vestiture of all sternites with short, clavate, ochraceous scales. Pygidium : small, with short tuft of ochraceous to testaceous seta­like scales. Genitalia: not dissected.

Remarks. Similar to C. obrieni n. sp., but length of scape longer than funicular segments 1–6.

Etymology. Named for the type locality, ‘‘ Gang­Ku.’’
