HOLOTYPE. China. Yuzhong male [ China / Gansu /Yuzhong/ 2200 m / 22 June 1962 / H. Li] (IZAS).

Description. Male: length: 2.7 mm (n = 1). width: 1.5 mm (n = 1). Head: moderatesized; punctures small with small, narrow, elongate, testaceous scales; frons, 0.25 as broad as head across eyes; vestiture of narrow, elongate, luteus scales; somewhat flat, lacking fovea. Rostrum: length: 1.6 mm (n = 1), 0.59 as long as body; cylindrical; middorsal carina from frons to distad of antennal insertion, flanked by deep oval punctures; straight to antennal insertion, then arced gradually to apex; scrobe lateral; scape inserted at midpoint. Antennae: length: scape 0.7 mm; funiculus: segment one 0.2 mm, two 0.15 mm, three 0.1 mm, four 0.1 mm, five 0.075 mm, six 0.1 mm, seven 0.1 mm, club 0.3 mm, funicle 0.75 mm (n = 1); scape 0.93 as long as funicle; essentially glabrous; club elongate acuminate, first segment of club longer than funicular segment 7; club as long as funicular segments 4–7. Thorax: length: 0.70 mm (n = 1); width: 1.0 mm (n = 1); almost as long as broad; disc margins subparallel gradually rounded to constriction, base sinuate clothed with narrow, elongate, testaceous scales, somewhat flat in lateral view; anteroventral scales more clavate, broader with truncate apices, white; punctures small on disc, slit­like on pleuron; mesosternal intercoxal process not prominent; scutellum large, as broad as long, clothed with white scales; mesepimeron densely clothed with clavate, white scales; mesepisternum, metepisternum and metasternum less densely clothed with clavate, dirty, white scales; procoxae clothed with narrow, elongate, clavate, bifid, white scales. Elytra: length: 1.8 mm (n = 1); striae deep; humeri rounded, not significantly prominent; intervals narrow, clothed with a confused pattern of narrow, elongate, testaceous and white scales; crosshatched setae short, not prominent. Legs: length of hind femur 1.1 mm (n = 1), tooth medium; pro­ and mesofemoral teeth small; base of femora not robust; clava moderate­sized with an evenly curved dorsal outline; vestiture of narrow, elongate, white scales; tibiae sinuate, pro­, meso­, and metauncus moderate, almost as long as tarsal claw. Abdomen: sternite 1 as long as 2 behind coxal cavity; sternites 3 and 4 equal in length, combined longer than 5; sternite 5 with truncate apex; sternites 1 and 2 with lateral macula of clavate, white scales, medially with narrow, elongate, white scales, same as on remaining sternites; sternite 5 with apical tufts of long seta­like scales. Pygidium : small, shield shaped; clothed with elongate, dirty white setalike scales. Genitalia: not dissected.

Remarks. Resembles C. flavoscutellatus , but lacks dark macula around scutellum.

Etymology. Named for the type locality ‘‘ Gansu,’’ China.
