The spelling of the family-group name based on Nomius was emended to Nomiusidae by the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature (ICZN 2011) to remove the homonymy with the hymenopteran family-group name Nomiidae Robertson, 1904.
Diversity.
Six species arrayed in three genera: Laccocenus Sloane (two species in southeastern Australia), Nomius (three species), and Psydrus (one species).
