STENUROTHRIPIDAE Bagnall View in CoL View at ENA
This is one of the small families of Thysanoptera and comprises six species grouped in three genera ( Mound & Marullo 1999). It is here first record for Saudi Arabia. Members of Stenurothripidae can be easily separated from other Thysanoptera families by: broadly conical shaped sense cone on segments III–IV; 9-segmented antennae with transverse rows of microtrichia; ovipositor turned downwards; wings narrow and pointed at the apex.
