Neohydatothrips amygdali Minaei, 2016: 371 View in CoL View Cited Treatment
This species was described from Iran where it breeds on leaves of Amygdalus scoparia ( Minaei 2016) View in CoL but is also known from Saudi Arabia from Acacia spp. It is the only member of Neohydatothrips View in CoL that is known to have only one pair of discal setae on tergite IX. All other species in this genus have 2–3 pairs of discal setae on tergite IX ( Lima & Mound 2016b).
Material studied. AL Baha. Al Makhwa, Al Hamadan, three females from Acacia leaves ehrenbergiana , 7.iv.2019, ( BT); Al Makhwa, four females from A. ehrenbergiana , 10.iv.2019, ( BT). Riyadh: Al Dawadmi, two females, one male A. ehrenbergiana, (BT) ; Al-Deri’yya, one female from A. ehrenbergiana , 2.iv.2019, ( BT); Dirab, one female 09.vi.2020, ( SW), Soliman, A. KSU Educational farm, 33 females, 14 males seven larvae A. seyal , four females, one male A. ehrenbergiana , one female from A. etbaica , 2.vii.2020, ( BT).
