Ceratothripoides Bagnall

This Old World genus comprises five species, and on the Arabian Peninsula C. cameroni is known from Saudi Arabia (zur Strassen 1979) and Yemen (zur Strassen 1990). The genus is closely related to Pezothrips but it can be distinguished from the latter genus by ocellar setae pair I usually arranged longitudinally, clavus usually without discal seta, female sternite VII with S1 setae not closed to each other and S2 setae well behind the posterior margin as S1 setae whereas ocellar setae pair I arranged transversely, clavus with a discal seta, female sternite VII with S1 setae usually closed to each other and S2 setae arises on the posterior margin in Pezothrips ( Mound & Nickle 2009) .
