The male genitalic structures distinctive of Aprionus barbatus are adequately illustrated in Spungis & Jaschhof (2000: fig. 1ĀC). The Swedish specimen referred to here is only the fifth known of this species. Previous distribution. Latvia, Russia (Europe). Occurrence in Sweden: Småland.

Specimen studied. SWEDEN: male (CEC215), Småland , Nybro, Bäckebo, Grytsjön NR, tall forest of aspen and conifers, 21 Aug. 2015, sweepnet, M. & C. Jaschhof.
