Paratoxophora Engel View in CoL
Paratoxophora Engel, 1936: 39 . Type species: Paratoxophora cuthbertsoni Engel, 1936 , by monotypy.
Comments: This monotypic genus superficially resembles Gonarthrus and consequently had been included in the Bombyliinae , notably by Hesse (1938). However, it differs most conspicuously in the large size, and structure of the male genitalia, and in the dark bluish-black cuticle and sparse vestiture.
Distribution: Monotypic. Southern and Eastern Africa: Paratoxophora cuthbertsoni Engel.
