Atrichochira Hesse, 1956: 911 . Type species: Exoprosopa pediformis Bezzi, 1921 , by original designation. Comments: The male and female genitalia are very similar to those of Micomitra
spp., but quite distinct from other African Exoprosopini. The two form a well supported clade along with the Australian genus Pseudopenthes Roberts ( Lambkin 2001) .
Distribution: Afrotropical: 2 species; Atrichochira inermis (Bezzi) ( Malawi) , A. pediformis (Bezzi) ( Burundi, Malawi, KwaZulu-Natal). A further undescribed species from Madagascar has been seen by DJG.
