Type Locality: Malaysia, Sabah, Gunong (= Mt.) Kinabalu, Lumu-Lumu, 5,500 ft. (1,676 m).

Vernacular Names: Black Shrew.

Distribution: Known only from the type locality.

Conservation: IUCN – Critically Endangered.

Discussion: Reviewed by Medway (1977:16-17).
