Report as epibiont on bryozoans: This species was reported on bryozoans and algae from Strait of Georgia, Canada ( Wailes 1943; Mccazuley & Hancock 1971).

Report as epibiont on other hosts: The species is widely distributed, in particular, was found in Xiamen (Amoy), China ( Wang & Nie 1932) on algae, also on the vertical walls of a tidal channel cut into mangrove peat in Twin Cays ( Belize Barrier Reef, the Caribbean Sea) ( Bauer-Nebelsick et al. 1996).
