Report as epibiont on bryozoans: This species was reported as epibiont on marine bryozoans Cribrilina punctata (Hassal, 1841) , Alcyonidium polyoum (Hassal, 1841) , Crisia eburnean (Linnaeus, 1758) , Electra crustulenta (reported as Membraneipora crustulenta ) in Kiel Bay, the North Sea ( Precht 1935).
Record on other hosts/subtrata: It was also reported on cnidarian Abietinaria abietina (Linnaeus, 1758) (= Diphasia abietina ) from Norway coast ( Kahl 1935). It was also registered on Gonothyraea loveni (Allman, 1859) (named as Laomedea loveni ), Campanulina lacerata (Johnston, 1847) and Dynamena pumila (Linnaeus, 1758) from Kiel Bay, the North Sea ( Precht 1935).
The species was found at glass slides that were immersed in water at a depth of ca. 1 m for 10 days in abalonefarming pond on the coast of Qingdao, China ( Ji et al, 2006). It was listed among ciliates of the Baltic Sea ( Mironova et al. 2009).
