Material examined. BATANG HARI DRAINAGE: ZMA 121.782 (2), 119.3± 126.0 mm SL.

ROKAN DRAINAGE: ZMA 121.783 (2), 144.0±151.0 mm SL.

Remarks. The synonymy of A. macronotacanthu s with this species is tentative and follows that of Kottelat et al. (1993). Bleeker’s (1858b, 1862) record of A. arius could refer to this species.
