Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Included in Nycticeius by Ellerman and Morrison-Scott (1951); but see Hill (1974 c). Reviewed by Bates and Harrison (1997). S. noctulinus may be an earlier name for this species.
