Calodromius Reitter, 1905 View in CoL
Type species.
Carabus quadrinotatus Panzer, 1799 (= Carabus spilotus Illiger, 1798).
Calodromius is poor in species among the subtribe Dromiusina , with only eight species in the world ( Anichtchenko 2017), seven species of which are from the Palaearctic realm ( Kabak 2003). The genus Calodromius can be identified among its related genera by combination of characters: antennomeres II shorter than III; pubescence starts from antennomeres IV; base of pronotum weakly incised towards hind angles; elytra broadened posteriorly; tarsomeres I of hind legs as long as last. Calodromius mayeti (Bedel 1907) is the only representative of the genus from Arabian Peninsula, recorded from Madina, Saudi Arabia ( Mateu 1986).
