Balclutha curvata (Caldwell) View in CoL , Figs. 55–65 View FIGURES 55–65

Balclutha flavescens View in CoL is also similar to B. curvata View in CoL . Specimens of B. curvata View in CoL at USNM from Florida at Archbold Research Station, Highlands Co.and from Collier Co.(specific locality not stated)were confirmed here by comparison to the B. curvata View in CoL type. The drawing of the aedeagus of B. curvata View in CoL in the original description by C&M (1952, Fig. 39a View FIGURES 33–40 1 View FIGURES 1–10 ) is mistaken. It does not match the type specimen and appears to be mistakenly drawn of a specimen of B. flavescens View in CoL . Linnavuori’s (1959) drawing of B. curvata View in CoL closely resembles the “ B. curvata View in CoL ” figures of C&M (1952) (likely copied from C&M, furthering the error) and also resemble the figures of B. flavescens View in CoL by Linnavuori (1959) and by Blocker (1967). Blocker (1967) illustrated the male genitalia of B. curvata View in CoL but Blocker’s figures, especially of the aedeagus, differ somewhat from the holotype. The holotype, deposited at USNM, is illustrated here ( Figs. 55–65 View FIGURES 55–65 ) to help clarify this species.
