Oreta zigzaga Chu & Wang, 1987 View in CoL , Acta Ent. Sin., 30 (3): 296, fig. 7, pl.1: 15. Holotype 3, China: Yunnan, Lushui (IZCAS), syn. nov.

Material examined. CHINA, Yunnan ( IZCAS): Lushui, Yaojiaping, 2500 m, 4.VI.1981, coll. Wang Shuyong, 13 (Holotype of O. zigzag a, incorrectly recorded as “Sichuan, Lushui” originally); Lushui, Yaojiaping, 2500 m, 2.VI.1981, coll. Zhang Xuezhong, 13; Fazhe, Fenghuangchang, 2800 m, 8.V.1980, 13; Tengchong, Danzha Linchang, 2500 m, 2–4.VI.1992, coll. Xue Dayong, 13; Tengchong, Dahaoping, 2020 m, 5–7.VIII.2007, coll. Wu Chunguang and Xue Dayong, 43. Tibet ( IZCAS): Gyirong, 2800 m, 18.VII.1975, coll. Wang Ziqing, 1Ƥ (Paratype of O. zigzaga ).

Diagnosis. O. pavaca pavaca is identical to O. pavaca sinensis on wing pattern. In the male genitalia, the posterior part of the aedeagus is smooth in the nominate subspecies but spined in O. pavaca sinensis , and the lateral posterior processes on the sternite 8 are longer and bent inwards in O. pavaca pavaca but shorter and straight in O. pavaca sinensis .

Distribution. China (Yunnan, Tibet), India, Nepal.

Remarks. The external and genital characters of O. zigzaga Chu & Wang are identical to those of O. pavaca pavaca , and the two are therefore synonymized here. The specimens from Dahaoping, Tengchong, Yunnan, has the valva similar to that of O. pavaca sinensis , but the aedeagus similar to O. pavaca pavaca : the protruding sternite 8 is not identical to either of the two subspecies. This may represent an intermediate form.
