Müller Argoviensis (1865) based his description of Gymnanthes treculiana on “ Trécul in Mus. Paris ”, collected “ in Mexico orientali ad Rio Bravo de Norte ”. Three specimens were found in P, with the same specifications as cited in the protologue. Taking into consideration the integrity of the material and its compliance with the protologue, P 00716805 is selected as the lectotype.
