Description of Altererythrobacter ishigakiensis StC2

Cells are gram-staining-negative, non-flagellated, and rod-shaped. Colonies are round, smooth, and orange-colored after three days of incubation at 30℃ on MA. Positive for esculin hydrolysis. Negative for nitrate reduction, indole production, glucose fermentation, and arginine dihydrolase, urease, gelatinase, and β -galactosidase activity. Utilizes adipic acid and trisodium citrate. Does not utilize D- glucose, L- arabinose, D- mannose, D- mannitol, N -acetyl-glucosamine, D- maltose, potassium gluconate, capric acid, malic acid, and phenylacetic acid. Strain StC2 (= VYWGBAC000000350) was isolated from a red algae sample, Yeosu, Korea.
