Material. Anda6 (1) RGM 961857, AndaClif1 (1) RGM 962089.
Characterization. Shell up to 25 mm and 13.5 whorls. Protoconch conical, slender, 3.5 whorls. Whorl outline almost straight, with strong, nearly straight axial ribs, triangular in cross section, numbering 15 on penultimate whorl. Subsutural band defined by groove crossing over ribs. Spiral cords weak, crossing axial ribs, occurring on subsutural band as well as remainder of whorl, 11 on penultimate whorl. Columella weakly recurved.
Distribution. Tropical Indo-Pacific, intertidal to 30 m ( Bratcher & Cernohorsky, 1987). Tropical Indo-West Pacific, sand bottom in lower intertidal zone to 100 m ( Tsuchida, 2000). Tropical Indo-West Pacific, from southern Japan and the Philippines to New Caledonia, in sand between coral, intertidal to 40 m ( Terryn, 2007). Aliguay Island, Philippines, 60 to 120 m (Terryn, 2008). Also from the early Pleistocene of Fiji ( Kohn & Arua, 1999a; Kohn & Arua, 1999b).
Remarks. The adult shell, RGM 961857, has fewer ribs and a narrower spire than most specimens of Terebra textilis Hinds, 1844 , but this species is known to be extremely variable ( Bratcher & Cernohorsky, 1987) and this shell does not match any other species of Terebridae , so this shell is attributed to this species.
