G e o g r a p h i c d i s t r i b u t i o n: The species is known by three subspecies: ssp. vittata in the mediterranean area of Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, ssp. eurypyga KOHL, 1898 in southern Morocco and Algeria, and ssp. littorea de BEAUMONT, 1951 of the Atlantic coast in southwestern Morocco ( SCHMIDT 2000). Specimens from Saudi Arabia and UAE belongs to the ssp. eurypyga ( GUICHARD, 1993) .
